I follow “My Favorite F Word is Feminism” on Facebook, and they always post cool stuff. They also post a lot of reader/ book related things. Yesterday, they posted an article from Bustle titled “33 Books That Every Badass Woman Should Read” and I just had to click it! I read through the whole list and added about 10 of the books to my Goodreads “want to read” list.

Here are a few of my favorites –

  1. The Girl Who Saved The King of Sweden – Jonas Jonasson
  2. Yes Means Yes: Visions of Female Sexual Power & A World Without Rape – Jaclyn Friedman And Jessica Valenti

  3. Bad Feminist – Roxanne Gray

I am very excited to read these (and several other titles). I want to diversify my reading list in 2017 and I think these titles will be a good start.

I hope you check out the list! I’m sure there is at least one book on there for everyone. Comment with your favorites! Now go forth and read!

The Serpent King aka crying in my bed at 12:30am on a Friday

The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner

I need to start with saying that this is probably the most serious piece I have ever written about a book I have read. And it is definitely the most honest. I cried more than I have cried in a while, in regards to a book or real life. I even knew it was coming but that did not stop the tears. Tears in my bed, needing tissue breaks before I read the next heartbreaking moment. This is not a review of The Serpent King; it is just a lot of feelings that the book brought out of me. There are spoilers, so beware. Forgive me if this piece seems a little erratic and messy but I knew I had to write it the second I finished the book, which happened to be at 12:30 am on a Friday. I had to write it for myself, but I hope you enjoy it. Continue reading “The Serpent King aka crying in my bed at 12:30am on a Friday”

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST OFFICIAL TRAILER

The Beauty and the Beast official trailer is here! I just watched the Facebook Live event with the cast and it was magical! The best part was when Emma Watson said she wanted to play the Beast so she could be angsty. Josh Gad also talked about how the ballroom scene gave the cast chills when they watched it being filmed.

I am so excited for this movie. Emma Watson is a gem and the visuals are absolutely gorgeous. March 17, 2017 can’t come soon enough!

I’m really hoping my favorite line from the original is in the remake.

“If it’s not baroque, don’t fix it!” – Cogsworth.

Who else is as stoked about this as I am? And who else loves that quote?
