Day four day four day four of Blogmas! Thank you Swetlana @ The Caffeinated Bookworm Life, for sharing the 12 Days of Blogmas book event! The idea is to post every other day between December 2nd and December 24, so that you can have fun with some Christmas book posts and look back on what you read in 2017. I am on Day Four: Top 4 Sequels and/or Series Finales. I highly recommend the following books to all of you bookworms.
I read the whole The Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer this year and the final book in the series Winter, was amazing. It tied up everyones storylines really well and gave each character ample page space to grow and explore their characters. These books also have some of my favorite relationships I’ve ever read. Winter is the longest of the Lunar Chronicle novels at 827 pages, but it is worth every word. What a wonderful conclusion to such a dynamic series.
The End of Oz by Danielle Paige is the fourth and final book in the Dorothy Must Die series. I remember when I first discovered Dorothy Must Die in Barnes & Noble one day. It was summer… I read the back cover and instantly knew I had to have it. I love fairytale retellings and any retelling that switches what good and evil are, is intriguing. I read the first book and adored the story but then I had to keep waiting for the next book to be released and it was torture! The End of Oz was a great wrap up for the series and I am so glad I stumbled upon these books in B&N that fateful day. Psst..You can read my review of the first book in the series here.
I also read the whole Shades of Magic series by V.E. Schwab, ending with A Conjuring of Light, this year. Ugh I love characters and plot so much and I wish there were more books. Each book just got better and better and the stakes kept getting higher and higher. It was a wild ride from start to finish and I am so happy I read The Shades of Magic series. Victoria Schwab has become one of my favorite authors because of these books.
Our Dark Duet by is the sequel to This Savage Song in the Monsters of Verity series by V. E. Schwab and it built on the first book in a really cool way. The books definitely have two separate storylines that address different things, but they explore aspects of the main characters we didn’t see in the first book and it was enthralling to read.
Thanks for reading! What was your favorite book series you read this year?
