T5W – January 4th – 2017 Goals

T5W – January 4th – 2017 Goals

Happy Wednesday!

This week’s topic is “2017 Goals”.

I have a list of things I want to accomplish this year. It is basically a 2017 to do list. I basically just want to have a fun year and see how I can help myself grow as a person and become a better version of myself. Here are some of the things I want to do in 2017.

5 Book Goals

  1. Read more diverse books when it comes to authors and subject matter.
  2. Go to the library more.
  3. Write more reviews.
  4. Finally read LOTR! I am always embarrassed to admit that I have not read Lord of the Rings. That changes this year. I hope…
  5. Read more meaningfully by paying attention to quotes I like and passages that make me think or feel something.

5 Personal Goals

  1. Cut back on social media/ spending time on my phone.
  2. Sit less.
  3. Cook more often and cook new things.
  4. Learn how to hand letter. This has always seemed like a fun hobby and I am excited to pick it up.
  5. Keep in touch with my friends. I made some friends this summer who live in different states than me, and I really want to keep in touch with them better because they are awesome and I don’t want to fall out of contact.

Those are some of my goals for 2017. Do we share any goals? What do you want to accomplish this year? Share in the comments!

Daily Prompt: Hopeful

via Daily Prompt: Hopeful

The beginning of a new year always makes me hopeful. I know it is cliche because it is just another day in a long succession of other days but there is still something special about changing over to a new year. I always start the new year feeling fresh and hopeful about what the next year will bring. I think a lot of people probably do. And I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. Second chances and fresh beginnings can feel awesome and be the push that someone needs to change something or better themselves.

People are probably too hopeful when it comes to New Year’s resolutions though. Myself included. I used to write vague resolutions like, workout more and eat healthier. I also wrote out long lists of all these things I want to change in the new year. I think I looked at the new year too hopefully, like I was able to reinvent myself at the stroke of midnight; which is wrong. I will still be the same person, but I can still accomplish things. This year I wrote a list of small things I want to accomplish, instead of change about myself. I am proud to say they are all manageable and achievable. This list fills me with hope for 2017.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST OFFICIAL TRAILER

The Beauty and the Beast official trailer is here! I just watched the Facebook Live event with the cast and it was magical! The best part was when Emma Watson said she wanted to play the Beast so she could be angsty. Josh Gad also talked about how the ballroom scene gave the cast chills when they watched it being filmed.

I am so excited for this movie. Emma Watson is a gem and the visuals are absolutely gorgeous. March 17, 2017 can’t come soon enough!

I’m really hoping my favorite line from the original is in the remake.

“If it’s not baroque, don’t fix it!” – Cogsworth.

Who else is as stoked about this as I am? And who else loves that quote?
